Congrats Cats Fans.  Good game as much as that hurts to admit. You’ve got a really good team.

What Happened to 50-55 Points?

The bright side: at least UofL covered the 50-55 point beat-down promise SOME of your fans made after the football game.  Guess it’s hard writing checks with your mouth that your ass can’t cash, huh?  That’s why I loathe UK fans who are like that … they think they’re supposed to beat everybody by 50 points every game.

If this game did nothing else, it ought to serve as a reality check for your inflated self view because we’re NOT a good team at this stage in spite of the inflated record and ranking. We’re dumb, timid, and lack any type of offensive continuity.  Our defense is decent, but it’s not handcuffing like some have (wrongly) suggested.

Our Place in Today’s Pecking Order

UofL is probably about a #17 team right now in search of consistent scorers outside of Russ Smith.  Shooting is atrocious and there is simply too much standing around on offense. If you want to feather your cap for beating that, go ahead.  I’m more disappointed in some of our guys than I was impressed that we hung around against a far more talented team on the road.  Yeah, we scrapped and kept it closer than it should have been, but we had guys that simply checked out mentally which is troubling (Siva, Kuric, Behanan, Chris Smith, etc.)

WTF?

Our team proved (once again) we’re not the brightest bulb in the chandelier … heck, we may not even be screwed into the chandelier for all I know.

Puzzling effort by Kuric & Siva to say the least. Siva couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn even when he was WIDE OPEN (something like 5 air balls?), and Kuric played scared. AWFUL!!!

Final Thought

Wayne Blackshear better be all that plus some if this team is going to do anything this year because Russ can’t do it all by himself!
